East Texas man crashes, gets hit by semi-truck

Twenty-one-year-old Atlanta resident Aaron Wade Richardson was hit by a semi-truck after walking away from a first wreck, KTRE reported on May 1.

According to records from the Texas Department of Safety, Richardson was heading south on Highway 59 near a rest area between Atlanta and Linden when his 2006 Mercedes crossed the center line into the northbound lane, veering off the highway and into a row of nearby trees. Meanwhile, a 2006 Peterbilt semi-truck was traveling north on the same highway where Richardson’s vehicle crashed. According to the truck driver, Richardson was hit when he stepped into the roadway.

Police authorities have not been able to place the exact time that the accident occurred but were able to determine that Richardson left his residence at around 7:10 a.m. that day. Emergency medical respondents declared Richardson’s time of death at 10:11 a.m. The Department of Public Safety is currently conducting an investigation to determine whether anyone is liable for Richardson’s death.

The attorneys at Williams Hart send their deep condolences to the friends and family suffering from this terrible loss.
