A multiple-car pileup on Beltway 8 in Houston killed two people and injured four others on Friday, November 15.
According to the Harris County Precinct 4 report, the accident occurred around 11 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Beltway 8 when a dump truck slammed into several vehicles.
The report said that a Global Waste Services garbage truck crashed into an extended cab truck with four people on-board. Immediately afterwards, the dump truck struck another vehicle with two people on-board, and then went on to hit a pickup truck.
The impact sent the pickup truck into a concrete barrier where it burst into flames. The dump truck driver and the pickup driver both died on site.
A pileup occurred on Friday, August 9 when a semi-truck crashed into several vehicles on the northbound lane of Interstate 35 West in Itasca, Texas. According to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper D.L. Wilson, seven vehicles were involved in the I-35 pileup, and one person was killed as a result of the accident.
According to witness Bailey Moore, the driver of the 18-wheeler didn’t slow down as it encountered traffic and kept on going, hitting the cars on the road and causing a chain reaction of crashes.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was flown via CareFlite to Harris Methodist Hospital at around 5:45 p.m. where he was listed in critical condition. Two other drivers were brought to nearby Fort Worth area hospitals.
As a result of a truck accident involving three vehicles in Sherman, traffic was backed up for an hour and three people were injured.
Police authorities said the accident happened at around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, in the northbound lanes of Highway 75 near Fallon Drive after a truck’s momentary slowdown caused a sport utility vehicle to swerve around the truck and another automobile to crash into both of the vehicles.
A person in the SUV had to wait for emergency responders to haul him out of the vehicle as the vehicle’s side was crushed, causing him to be trapped.
Sherman Police Department Lieutenant Stephen Dean said that of the five people involved in the accident, three sustained minor injuries.
