Big rig truck accident spilled hazmat along Highway 225

A big rig truck accident that resulted in a hazardous materials spillage happened in the eastbound frontage roadway of Beltway 8 on Thursday, December 1, causing the Highway 225 frontage road in Pasadena, in the Houston metropolitan area in Texas, to become temporarily closed to public traffic.

According to preliminary investigations made by the Pasadena Fire Department, the 18-wheeler truck had 4,300 gallons of hydrochloric acid inside it when it flipped over, spilling around 100 gallons of the contents.
