Accidents that involve semi-trucks can be devastating, especially when a smaller vehicle or pedestrian is involved, due to the sheer size of an 18-wheeler. One tragic accident occurred recently on a highway in north east Texas.
A semi-truck driver ran from his vehicle after a truck fire started for unknown reasons. As he escaped from the truck, an oncoming 18-wheeler hit him, resulting in his death, NBC6 reported on December 2.
According to reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred at 6:40 a.m. along the westbound lanes of Interstate 20 in Harrison County, Texas. The highway was temporarily reduced to one lane in the aftermath.
The victim, whose name was not released by authorities, had been hauling furniture.
The attorneys with Williams Hart are deeply sorry this incident occurred and extend their sincere condolences to the friends and family suffering during this difficult time.
