A traffic accident involving a car and an 18-wheeler along Highway 225 westbound near Preston Road in Pasadena, Texas claimed the life of a woman on October 27, KPRC reported.
According to preliminary investigations, plastic containers flew off the trailer a pickup truck was hauling in front of the woman’s vehicle in traffic. The pickup truck driver stopped on the side of the road to pick up the containers, causing the woman behind him to slow down. Allegedly, the semi-truck driver failed to notice her braking, and the driver completely drove on top of the vehicle.
The police closed off Highway 225 to public use at around 9 a.m. to allow for emergency medical responders to retrieve the victim’s body, opening the road to traffic at around six hours later. No charges have yet been filed, but the incident remains under investigation, according to a statement made by police spokesman Vance Mitchell.
