Multiple-truck accident on the Texas State Highway kills two

An accident involving four tractor-trailers and two pickup trucks on the Texas State Highway 349, south of Midland and County Road 180, claimed the life of two people, the Midland Reporter-Telegram reported on October 3.

Police responded to the scene of the accident and found one of the tractor-trailers and one of the pickup trucks burning, Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter said. The Texas Department of Public Safety conducted an investigation into the multiple-vehicle wreck and had the area closed off for most of the day. The cause of the serious accident has not yet been released by authorities.

Traffic along the southbound and northbound lanes had to be rerouted to Farm to Market Road 1788 from FM 1787, then onward to FM 1213 to County Road 1160, and then finally south to FM 1379.

The attorneys at Williams Hart are deeply sorry this tragic accident occurred, and we extend our deep condolences to the friends and family suffering during this time.
